Getting from/to the Terminal

Please note, when travelling on a Mini cruise between Amsterdam - Newcastle - Transfer bus from terminal - city center is included in the price.

 

By transfer bus

From North Shields Terminal, - Newcastle City Center (Newcastle central station)

Bus departures coincide with the ship arrival. You find the DFDS Seaways transfer bus on the parking lot outside the terminal arrival hall. Busses are marked DFDS Seaways. Bus journey to Newcastle City center (Newcastle Central Station) takes 20-30 min.

From Newcastle City Center (Central Station) - Terminal in North Shields

The transfer busses depart from Newcastle City Center, outside the Newcastle Central station, at 2:45 pm and 3:45 pm. Bus journey takes 20-30 min.

Please buy your transfer bus ticket in the online booking (Offered in the end of booking flow) or pay the driver when you board the bus.

 

By car

From Newcastle City Centre: Take the A1 towards Morpeth and then the A19 towards the Tyne Tunnel.  On Approach to the tunnel, follow the International Ferry symbol onto the A187 towards North Shields.  Continue along this road to the roundabout, take the second exit to the International Ferry Terminal, Royal Quays.

From the North: Head for the Tyne Tunnel via the A19, then follow the directions as above.

From the South: Approach via the A19 towards the Tyne Tunnel.  Once through the tunnel join the A187 and proceed as above.  Please Note: Drivers approaching from the South should allow extra time during the summer months when the tunnel can be extremely busy.

 

By train
